Galatians 5:22-26

Last week we keyed in on verse 16, “walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.”

This consideration was preventative. It is one thing to overcome the flesh and not do evil things, but something else to do good things.

Legalist – can boast of not committing adultery, but does the graces of the Spirit show in his life?

A machine turns out a product but cannot produce fruit. Fruit must grow out of life.

2. The cultivation
   • The atmosphere
     • Fruit grows in a climate blessed with an abundance of the Spirit and the Word
   • The purpose
     • Fruit is for eating.
     • When people see the fruit of the Spirit, they will be drawn to the producer, the Lord.
