There are some things that are very basic to our life experience. Among them are a need to love and be loved, and a need to have someone in whom you can trust.
When we learn to experience God’s presence, we soon discover that He meets these basic needs far more than we do. He loves us. We can love Him, and certainly He is one on whom we can depend.
The passage of Scripture before us today shows that our God is worthy of our placing our dependence in Him.
- Remember God’s past work (II Chronicles 20:7-9)
- Call God to remember His promises
- Call God to aid
- Retain a strong belief in God’s ability (II Chronicles 20:12)
- Our eyes are on you, O Lord
- God ministers to people who believe
- Rejoice in what God does for you
- Takes away fear (II Chronicles 20:15)
- Stands in our defense (II Chronicles 20:15b)
- Lets us see His mighty working (II Chronicles 20:22-23)
With all these reminders, we can experience the joy of God’s presence as we depend on Him.
