The Shepherd Song

Psalm 23

David, the shepherd boy, who became a king has given us this beautiful Psalm that tells us of the wonderful relationship we can have with our God.

Several things he tells us:

1. God is our source of peace. (Verses 2&3)
   • A sheep will not drink from troubled waters
   • He provides for matters of tranquility
2. God is our provider. (Verses 1&5)
   • I shall not want
   • Table of plenty
3. God is our protector. (Verse 4)
   • There are many things to serve as a snare
   • The staff was a weapon to stave off the enemy
4. God is our prospect. (Verse 6)
   • Today His mercy
   • Tomorrow a home with Him
