“As the father has sent me, even so send I you.”
- What did it mean for the Father to send the Son?
- It meant losses.
- Certain things were set aside when Jesus came to Earth.
- It meant separation.
- Jesus prayed for the glory He had with the Father.
- It would mean forsakenness.
- Why have You forsaken me?
- It meant losses.
- What it means to us to be sent by the Son.
- It is not a loss, but a gain.
- It is an enrichment to be able to share Christ’s ministry.
- It is not a separation, but a union.
- We are ambassadors of Christ.
- II Corinthians 5:20 “as ambassadors we are seeking to have others embrace Christ.”
- It is not being forsaken but empowered.
- Jesus breathed on them and said, “receive the Holy Spirit breath.” Same word as when God breathed and man became a living being.
- It is not a loss, but a gain.
