- Social Distinction has no place in the church
It is inconsistent to hold to the Christian faith and at the same time shows partiality based on a person’s wealth or appearance.
- We must follow the example of how God deals with men
- God has made the poorest individual the richest person on Earth
- God has chosen more who are not might than those who are
- For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. I Corinthians 1:26-29
- We are to keep God’s royal law
- God’s royal law is to love
- Partiality is sinful
- One sin makes us as guilty as if we had committed every sin
Therefore, social distinction has no place in the church. We are all the same as we stand before the cross of Jesus Christ, sinners in need of a Savior.
