Most of us, at one point in our lives, have repeated these words: “for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do us part.” This was the commitment we were making to someone we loved, at a time when we didn’t know what the outcome would be.
Joseph didn’t necessarily repeat those words, but his life reflects for us a person who was able to live with his circumstances. Sometimes it seemed worse and sometimes better.
His life shows us that by following the fundamentals, every person can experience God’s blessing no matter the circumstances. Let’s explore some of those fundamentals.
- Accept the circumstances as God’s plan
- God is in control
- God can work through any kind of circumstance
- Avoid the pitfalls that appear
- self-indulgence
- compromise
- Allow God to work
- be yielded
- Bloom where you are planted
- be faithful
- be yielded
Therefore, everyone can experience God’s blessing no matter what they experience. God knows what He is doing, and even when we do not understand it, we can accept it as God’s plan.
We have this promise. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. When we remain faithful to Him, He will work through our present problems. Our responsibility is to be true and leave the results to Him.
God led Joseph from a boy in his father’s household to a high position in a nation, even though his path went through the pit and Pharaoh’s jail. God does know what He is doing!
Our greatest need is to allow God to work His plan in our lives.
