Genesis 9:9-17

A rainbow is a thing of beauty and there is a scientific explanation for it. God gave special meaning to it.

1. It is a symbol of God’s love
   • Man had experienced God’s judgement
   • Rising out of the judgement is God’s promise
2. It is a covenant promise
   • Never again will this be experienced by man
   • It is a reminder that God keeps His word
3. It is a reminder of deliverance
   • The rainbow reminds us of what was
   • It reminds us of what God did
     • He saved faithful people
     • His promise for the future is the same
