- Man had experienced God’s judgement
- Rising out of the judgement is God’s promise
- It is a covenant promise
- Never again will this be experienced by man
- It is a reminder that God keeps His word
- It is a reminder of deliverance
- The rainbow reminds us of what was
- It reminds us of what God did
- He saved faithful people
- His promise for the future is the same
