- Upheaval – disobedience to God always causes this (verse 4)
- Drastic means – thrown overboard (verse 12) Jonah expressed an “I don’t care” attitude. His prejudice was so strong.
- The providence of God (verse 17)
A great lesson for us in our service to God is to remember that God knows what is best. He has a plan. No one individual can defeat His plan, but can be defeated when trying to take matters into his own hands. Even in the worst of our conditions, God still has mercy for us.
