Green Pastures

Psalm 23

In Psalm 23, we see how David views God from the viewpoint of a shepherd.

  • The Lord is my shepherd
    • He supplies every need (Psalm 23:2)
      • There is no want to them that fear the Lord (Psalm 34:9)
    • Guides in daily living (Psalm 23:3)
    • Takes away fear (Psalm 23:4)
      • The promise is that in the last days, men’s hearts shall fail them for fear of the things coming upon the earth. Not so for Christians
    • Gives evidence of blessing before others (Psalm 23:5)
      • Supplies all needs to give witness to others of His presence
      • Brings healing (anoints head with oil)

A shepherd tends to his flock daily. There are multiple references to Jesus being our shepherd. He will guide us and never forsake us. He meets all our needs.
