Today, millions of Christians around the world will be participating in the observance of the Lord’s supper. As we share long with them, it is a good time to consider again the purpose for which we do.

• This is a fellowship
  • A deliberate intention of Jesus (Matthew 26:18)
  • Hindrances to this fellowship
    • Judas presence
• This is a time of instruction
  • The significance of the bread
    • This is my body (Isaiah 53:5)
    • Our spiritual well-being is dependent on Christ’s physical sufferings
      • He was pierced through for our transgressions
      • By His stripes we are healed
  • The meaning of the cup
    • His blood is our forgiveness of sin
• This is a celebration
  • We have a future
