Psalm 8
There are times in our lives when we are just down in the dumps and it seems nothing is going well. We could walk under a snake’s belly with a high silk hat and never tickle him at all. We have all had those experiences. How do you handle them?
Psalm 8 refers to an unspeakable help during such times. For this Psalm brings us to the awareness that because of the joys to be realized, we should praise the Lord.
- We can praise Him for who He is
- The words “Lord” are not repetitive
- The first is a name given to our God. It means Jehovah.
- The second is a title. This title speaks of our relationship to Him as our master.
- The words “Lord” are not repetitive
- We can praise Him for His creation
- The splendor of creation
- The special position of man in creation
- “You have made them a little lower than the angels”
- Speaks of our glory
- Crowned with majesty
- We have the privilege of fellowship with God. This is granted to man only in all of the earth’s creation
- “You have made them a little lower than the angels”
What do you do when you are down in the dumps? Praise the Lord!
