God’s Open Invitation

Isaiah 55

God has a design that is custom-made for your life. If you follow His plan, you can know continuous satisfaction. Are you happy with your life? Can you say right now, “This is exactly the way I want my life to be?” Can you say, “Thank you, Lord, for life as I know it right now?” If you cannot say “yes” to all these questions, Jesus is extending an open invitation to you. By heeding this invitation, every person can receive rich and abundant benefits.

  • Satisfaction for our thirst for God (Isaiah 55:1)
    • We were made for fellowship with God
    • Thirst for God manifests itself in various ways
      • Irritation
      • Inability to deal with problems
      • Uneasiness
      • The desire for things to satisfy
  • Peace for our sin condition (Isaiah 55:6-7)
    • God continues to call after us
      • He wants us to turn to Him
    • Peace comes to us through God’s pardon
  • Hope through obedience to God’s ways (Isaiah 55:8)
    • We need to learn God’s ways
    • God’s word is our guide to obedience
  • Joy in the Lord (Isaiah 55:12)
    • Joy comes as a result of being a Christian
      • The most miserable person is the one who is trying to be a Christian while living by the world’s standards
        • The non-Christian gets the wrong concept of Christianity through such people
    • Joy is found in total commitment to Christ
      • We cannot be fence sitters

Therefore, by heeding the call that God extends to us, everyone can be made rich.

If you are trying to live in two worlds, the Christian and the non-Christian, why not get off the fence and come all the way to God and learn the satisfaction and joy of a relationship with Him? If you are without peace and hope, discover what Jesus can do for you now.
