The Best Is Yet To Be
Revelation 21:1-9
To show through this Scripture that we have assurances for the future that show it to be the best of God’s blessing.
The New Year is typically a time when we do some analysis of the past and looking with some anticipation for the future. As we reach our advancing years, we may think we don’t have much to look forward to or we have left the best of life in the past.
We do not have a crystal ball with which to look ahead, nor do we want one. We have something far better and more trustworthy. It is called God’s Word (the Bible).
God gave one man, John, the privilege of seeing what is ahead. Let’s peak over his shoulder as he writes these words in Revelation 21. All of this shows us the best is yet to come.
- God’s presence (Revelation 21:3-5)
- God Himself shall be among them
- All tears removed
- Sorrow over losses
- Regret
- Sadness over failings
- Death is defeated
- Pain is gone
- All tears removed
- God Himself shall be among them
- God’s purpose (Revelation 21:1, 2 , and 5)
- Delivered from the curse of sin
- Brought into a new home
- Why do we need a new home?
- Unlimited supply (Revelation 21:6)
- Place of absolute perfection (Revelation 21:27)
- Why do we need a new home?
- God’s power
- A new life
- Eternal life
- The benefits of eternal life we experience now
- Peace
- Pardon
- Power
- God’s presence by the Holy Spirit
- Future benefits of eternal life
- Immortality
- Full access to God’s presence all the time
- The benefits of eternal life we experience now
It is easy to see we haven’t experienced the best yet, but it is available to us by trust in Jesus Christ.
