Where Shall the Kingdom of God Be Established?

Where Shall the Kingdom of God Be Established?

Revelation 21:1-11

One of the questions facing us concerning the establishment of the Kingdom is where will it be? Will the Kingdom be established on the beautiful Isle of Nowhere, in Heaven where we will possess it as disembodied spirits, or here on the new earth in this body made new and completely changed?

The Scripture has definite and interesting things to tell us about this subject.

  • God’s promise to Abraham (Genesis 13:14)
    • When God called Abram out of Ur of Chaldees, He established a covenant with him
    • When the Hebrew nation came out of Egypt, they inherited the land God had promised Abram so many years prior
    • Today the Jews are still living in this land and the Bible declares this is their land forever
      • If these people are to be in the Kingdom, this shall be their dwelling place
  • Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Daniel 2:35)
    • The interpretation of the dream indicates the Kingdom will be established here on Earth
    • The stone from out of the mountain came and smote the image on the feet, then grew until it filled the whole Earth
    • This new Kingdom wholly takes the place of the four previous earthly kingdoms and is established to take their place
  • Teachings of Jesus (Matthew 13:36b-42)
    • Matthew 13 is filled with parables of the Kingdom
    • From the interpretation of a parable, we can interpret a Biblical truth
    • The parable of the wheat and tares
      • The field is the world
      • The tares are wicked
      • The reapers are angels
      • The harvest is the end of the world
    • Jesus plainly says that His angels will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend
      • Where are the offenders living? In the world
    • Jesus is teaching that the fires of hell are for purifying Earth so Jesus can establish His Kingdom here
  • Righteous shall tread on the ashes of the wicked (Malachi 4)
    • If the wicked are to be destroyed on this earth, how can the righteous tread on their ashes f they are in the Kingdom dwelling somewhere else
  • Meek shall inherit the Earth (Matthew 5)
    • Jesus taught the meek will inherit the Earth
